I live in the province, Groningen! So I’m going to tell you something about that! The capital city is Groningen, and yes, the province is also called Groningen, very weird! There are currently about 596.163 Thousand people in Groningen (Province). I personally think the city is really beautiful! We have some important buildings that are like a symbol for Groningen. One of these buildings is the Martinitoren, it’s a belltower that stands in the city center. We also have a building called the Apenrots (the monkey rock), I have no idea what is in it, but as a child, I grew up passing the building on car rides. We have a few museums, but one that is important for Groningen is the Groninger Museum. It has different expositions every few months and has some expositions from artists that come from Groningen! Every child who goes to school in the city has been there a few times with school! The Forum has buildings which have a library, study places for students etc., a movie theater, a techlab and two museums. It’s very modern and hasn’t been in Groningen for a long time. My favorite places are the Herestraat, where there are most of the shops, the Vismarkt, which also has shops and some places to sit, and I also love the bookshop called Van der Velde.
