Spain

Barcelona

Description

As one of the major cities in Spain, Barcelona— also a part of the autonomous community of Catalonia— is known to encompass its vibrant styles. Two of Antoni Gaudi’s major works are the La Sagrada Familia, the largest incomplete basilica and Park Güell, an arrangement of stunning gardens and breathtaking architecture located atop of Carmel Hill. Also prominent in the Barcelona skyline, designed by Jean Nouvel and Fermín Vázquez, the Torre Glòries, a bullet-shaped skyscraper, signifies the technological district and modern Barcelona.

Andalucia: Sevilla, Cordoba, Malaga

Description

Sitting on the southernmost portion of the Iberian Peninsula, north of Africa, along the Strait of Gibraltar, lies the sunshine region of Andalusía. Of its eight charming provinces is its capital, Sevilla, the marvelous Cordoba, and part of the Costa del Sol, Malaga.

In Sevilla, there are several notable buildings (Plaza de Espana) where you can relive the olden days. In contrast, you can experience the magic that people more recently designed (Setas de Sevilla).

Cordoba is your place if you are looking forward to a cozier, but still lively town. Here, you can stroll around the many intersecting paths filled with the most vibrant colors and flowers.

And Malaga, while small, is geographically closest to Africa(out of the three) and where you can discover diverse options such as the ancient Teatro Romano de Málaga and shopping district, Calle Marqués de Larios.

Spain: Madrid, Segovia

Description

Located in central Spain, Madrid is a bustling city many tourists decide to visit. Here, you can find historic landmarks, brightly filled streets (like the Gran Via), or a majestic view from atop.

Or if you are looking for a quieter place to stay, you may want to take a one hour trip north by high speed rail to the sleepier town of Segovia, well known for its Roman aqueduct and medieval city walls.

While quite different, both Madrid and Segovia are amazing places to explore and walk around in for the sights and the food.
